Thanks for viewing Rich's website.
Rich has spent the majority of his life passionately and creatively photographing landscapes. Since the 1980's, Rich developed his own film (often Kodak Plus-X and Tri-X) and made his own prints and enlargements in his homemade darkroom. He has always enjoyed the process of "capture to print". In 2009, Rich made the jump from film to digital photography when he purchased his first Canon DSLR camera. He soon realized he needed software that was better then what came with the camera alone. He started using Corel Paintshop Pro. It was a great alternative to Adobe Photoshop (which was very expensive at the time) and it provided many of the same basic editing features. In 2013, Rich finally invested in Adobe Photoshop CS4 and has since transitioned to Adobe's cloud based Photoshop and Lightroom software. Rich also uses plug-in editing software such as Nik Color Efex and Alien Skin allowing him greater creativity in achieving his artistic vision.
In the past few years, Rich has traveled to some remarkable countries for pleasure and to photograph. His latest trips overseas have included Jamaica, Scotland and New Zealand. He has a passion for exploring. Whether it is here in the states or abroad, he loves experiencing new places and cultures. With that said, his 'happy place' is Yosemite National Park. Rich's series "Seven Years of Yosemite" was well received and captured honors in the Mono Visions Awards Competition, a U.K. based leading black and white photography magazine.
Rich has won many awards over the years both domestically and internationally. He always says, "Nothing beats the feeling of someone enjoying my work" and is very proud to have his art hanging on walls around the world. Rich and his work can be seen at many fine art festivals throughout the western United States and will be showing for the fifth year at the Laguna Art-A-Fair, an international juried art show that takes place during the summer in Laguna Beach, California.
Rich has been concentrating most recently on large wall art including large panoramic images. Over the last five years, Rich has developed a way of capturing these large images and has become proficient in the post processing and printing of these extremely large files. Many of his panoramic images are 50" x 18" and he has large wall art ranging from 24" x 24" to 30" x 40" in size. Rich, of course, offers custom sizes and mediums as he recognizes some customers prefer the painterly look and feel of canvas prints while others prefer the simplicity and pop of metal prints. He also offers custom framed prints from traditional mated prints with frames to shadow boxed framed prints.
